Tents For All The Family
Here at Oswald Bailey we like to think we know a little something about
tents and camping. We began over 90 years ago back in 1906 and since then we have sold a
tent or two!
Tent materials and designs have evolved over the years, as indeed has our our company, but
a couple of thing haven't changed, we are still a family owned business, and we
still sell great value tents.
Tents from years gone by
Camping has certainly come along way since this tent advert was first placed in our
camping brochure back in 1931. Back then this was cutting edge design, that anyone would
be proud to have been seen with.
Well I don't know about you, but now I would be looking for something a little more
comfortable, and a lot easier to erect. |

Modern day tents
Thanks to new materials Tents have never been as durable, easy to erect,
or as lightweight as they currently are.
With ripstop nylon flysheets and lightweight poles the tents of today are a backpackers
dream.
The Dome Style Tents have become more and more popular over the years as they are easy to
erect, and also give a greater amount of head room than conventional ridge tents, plus you
don't have to worry as much about which end to peg into the wind.
Many of today modern camping tents come with porch extensions
or and some manage to go even further . The range of family touring tents has also improved greatly over the
years. Again in Dome Tent Style large tents that can hold up to 10
people are available. Or also available are the KHYAM RAPIDEX SYSTEM
tents that are quick and easy to erect .

The Future
Well when you look back at how tents have changed over the past years it's
hard to imagine how they will look in the future.
Will they be ultra -lightweight made from some new as yet undiscovered material?
Will they be remote controlled so you only have to press a button and they erect
themselves?
Will they be designed with built in gravity & oxygen units so we can all go camping on
the moon?
I honestly don't know, but one thing that is for sure, what ever they do
look like you can guarantee that we will be stocking them.
